The Wessex Magical Association was formed in October 1932 at Gatti's restaurant,
Bournemouth, a venue that remained its headquarters for some years. Rex Gatti,
the restaurant's proprietor, was the WMA's first Treasurer. The
Great Nixon, who owned Nixon's Magical Depot, Bournemouth's first
shop to deal exclusively in magical equipment, was the first Secretary.
Jasper Maskelyne was the first President. Read
more.
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, and begin at 8.00pm
(doors open at 7.30pm) at the Bourne Valley Community Association,
56 Herbert Ave., Poole, Dorset, BH12 4EE View Map.
Guests are admitted to meetings by invitation only, but most of
our members are only too happy to oblige. Visiting magicians are
invited to contact the Secretary when in the area.
Would-be members should contact the President
or Secretary. Entry
to full membership (after six months as associate member) is by
audition.
